“The Dark Knight Rises” without Riddler

In an interview with The LA Times, Christopher Nolan has revealed two facts about 2012′s sequel to The Dark Knight. First off, the title is The Dark Knight Rises, and second-off, The Riddler is not the villain. Additionally, Nolan has managed to keep WB off his back, and will not be making the movie in 3D, but will continue to make his film in hisĀ preferredĀ format, IMAX.

Additionally, Nolan states that the third movie will keep many of the cast and characters. With the fact that Heath Ledger died soon after production, the Joker could potentially return with a new actor; Nolan did replace Katie Holmes with Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The removal of The Riddler is a more surprising turn for the movie; many fans assumed him to be a natural fit for Nolan’s Gotham. An earlier removal of Mr. Freeze, on the other hand, was obvious.
