“Super Sentai” anchors in iTunes
While it looks we missed it for a few days since the announced release, a legal collection of Super Sentai theme songs has hit iTunes for America. Under the album Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger VS. Super Sentai, the theme songs for the past six Super Sentai (what we know in America as Power Rangers) are now available in a $5.94 album (or $.99 each).
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (what’s airing now in Japan), Tensou Sentai Goseiger (2010′s series), Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (adapted as Power Rangers Samurai), Engine Sentai Go-Onger (adapted as Power Rangers RPM), Juken Sentai Gekiranger (adapted as Power Rangers Jungle Fury), and Gogo Sentai Boukenger (adapted as Power Rangers Operation Overdrive) are featured in the album, covering their main theme song.
Notably, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger features a “legendary war” starring 199 of the previous heroes, somewhat justifying the multiple theme songs arriving under their pirate flag. The Gokaiger’s feature a pirate motif, yet this is one of the few legal ways to acquire anything Super Sentai in America.
