Steve Jobs takes medical leave from Apple
The Associated Press (via The Wall Street Journal) reports that Steve Jobs will be taking a medical leave of absence from Apple, to focus on his health.
The move comes as somewhat of a surprise, sine Jobs was recently seen as the successful and healthy recipient of a liver transplant. Still, Jobs’ health takes priority over his work, despite the fact that he’s easily the face of the company. While not confirmed, in previous instances where Jobs has taken leave, Tim Cook has stepped in as acting CEO, leaving Jobs to consult on “major strategic decisions”.
Jobs’ leave comes soon after the announcement of the long-awaited Verizon iPhone, the release of the Mac App Store, and the heavily-rumored reveal of the next generation of iPad.
