Nook Color gains access to video games

Barnes and Noble rolled out an update to their Nook Color book reader today. Based on Android 2.2, this update allows access to a limited App Store (not the full Android Marketplace), alongside a host of other updates. As of the end of April 25th, there are 139 apps available. Many are books or informational, but there are a bevy of 35 games available.

Namco Bandai makes their mark on the device with a few titles. Naturally, Angry Birds makes it’s mark on it as well. Many of the titles are child oriented. There’s no Sonic The Hedgehog, or other action titles, available yet.
