Geoff Johns to pen “Aquaman” series

Every few years, someone tries their hand at Aquaman. They either remove a hand, or make a new, younger adventurer take up the mantle. Brightest Day has reintroduced the classic Arthur Curry Aquaman, and it seems that Geoff Johns will be headlining him in a new series, according to an interview with Newsarama.

Aquaman has had an upcoming Aquawar to prepare for, but he’s not alone. Increased focus on his wife, Mera, and the introduction of a new Aqualad (just in time for his role in Young Justice) alongside an established Aquagirl recently being a member of the Teen Titans have increased their role in the world.

Johns also states that, alongside headlining the Green Lantern and The Flash books, will be adding a third monthly to his roster in 2011.
