gaijINdebt: “Riddick” is five bucks on Steam this weekend

For some of you, you may be laughing at the mentioning of  Riddick, the I-can-only-see-at-night, bad-attitude protagonist of the movies Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, and think that his movie tie-in game may be a wrong thing to put for gaijINdebt. Well, you probably missed out on The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, the 2004 Xbox and PC prequel to the movies that rose above the trash heap of movie game tie-ins and became a critical success due to its melee mechanics and stealth system. Last year, it was given a high-def makeover, a new single-player campaign, and a multiplayer mode and was sold as The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. It is that version, which also did well with the critics, that is available on Steam. And, until 1pm Eastern on Monday, you can get it for five bucks off of Vavle’s digital download platform instead of the regular price of $19.99.
