gaijINdebt: “Extreme” digital console deals

Time for some consolidation. Microsoft has recently decided to move its signature Gold-Club-Only Deal of the Week to Tuesdays and have decided to begin some crazy available-for-all sales on Tuesdays. Similarly, Sony has always included sales and price drops as a part of the regular Tuesday PSN update. So, to make things simple and use the gaijINdebt tag and image more often, there will be a new weekly post highlighting the sales Sony and Microsoft are offering on their respective platforms.

We begin with Microsoft’s Xbox Live deals, as they have begun an “Extreme Shopping” event lasting through April 1 (hence the video above from Tak Fuji’s star-making E3 appearance), as a wide range of games and add-ons have gone on sale and include Costume Quest, Doom II, After Burner Climax, Gyromancer, and Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare. On April Fool’s Day, add-ons for Fallout: New Vegas and Fable III join Comic Jumper and Deadliest Warrior for a one-day-only mass reduction. Gold members can also pick up World of Keflings, Raskulls, and Worms 2 on the cheap.

On the PlayStation front, not much is being offered unless you have a PSP, in case a bunch of games have seen some permanent price reductions. If you have PlayStation Plus, you can pick up free copies of a couple of Minis, Comet Crash, and an Oddworld game before giving the excellent Split/Second a free full-game trial spin.
