Funimation is making a “Dragon Age” anime

Funimation and Electronic Arts announced today that they are making an animated adaptation to the hit role-playing video game Dragon Age: Origins. According to the press release, the animated film has begun production, although no animation studio is named, last month and will release in 2011. This will be the first project under Funimation’s Original Entertainment unit.

This is also not the first time that EA has released an animated movie to tie-in with their games. 2008 saw an animated prequel of Dead Space while this past February saw the release of a Dante’s Inferno animated film. Both were from Starz Media’s Manga Entertainment.
