“Final Fantasy XIII” gets an international release date: 3-9-2010
If you are an RPG fan, and more specifically a Final Fantasy fan, you now have March 9, 2010 marked on your calendar. That is when Final Fantasy XIII, the latest installment, arrives on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles for both North American and European territories. It is also historic, as the international release date is almost three months after the Japanese release date, December 17, 2009 for only the PS3. Previous entries in the franchise took several months after the Japanese release date before they came to the States and nearly a year to get to the PAL territories of Europe.
The main Final Fantasy XIII website revealed the date in a new trailer that also serves as the first official developer diary for the game. The same video revealed that popular British singer Leona Lewis will be contributing to game’s soundtrack as “My Hands,” a track from her upcoming album Echo, will be the theme song for the international version. As a part of the celebration, Xbox.com is holding a Twitter party/contest in which anyone who registers at the special landing page and includes http://xbox.com/ffxiii and the #FFXIIIXBOX hashtag will help unlock a special Xbox Live item that will be revealed when enough tweets are reached.

Ahhhh – March?! First I thought it was going to release this December, then Gamestop tells me Janurary – now March. At least this sounds like a solid date to count on. Oh well – I’m gonna console myself by playing FF12 until 13 arrvies.
