DVD Review: “My Santa” Makes Me Believe In Ho-Ho-Hotties

December 25th, 2008 by Chad Bonin

ms3Santa is not just a big, fat, jolly man at the North Pole. There’s a Santa who lives in Japan. No, he doesn’t have any holiday spirit, but his birthday is December 24th, and he was named after Saint Nicholas. As he doesn’t believe in the Christmas Spirit, he’s part of the weakening of the holiday heroes. To restart his faith of Christmas, a Santa-in-training, Mai, is sent to Japan to make him have a good holiday. She only has limited superpowers, a small cup size, and a pretty weak argument in her arsenal as she tries to get the boy named Santa to have a good birthday and believe again. But once she can power up with his faith, she’ll be way too much for him to handle.

Delicious Monster 2.0 now available

May 27th, 2008 by Chad Bonin

Delicious Monster has released Delicious Monster 2.0 for Mac OS X Leopard. Users can now download it, get their copy that they were guaranteed when they bought 1.0 recently, or Tiger users can buy the old one for cheap and pay a little more for 2.0 when they get Leopard.

I want it, but I’ll wait a little bit. Hoping to move later this year, and it’d just be easier to scan everything as I unpack.

Stock up on intergenre, internationality, awesome!

April 9th, 2008 by Chad Bonin

I’ll admit… I shouldn’t be buying DVDs or BluRays. I have a stack of screeners for Toon Zone, shelves of DVDs unopened, and even a handful of BluRays not opened.

Thanks to Amazon having a “Buy Two, Get One” BluRay sale, I’ve ordered The Fifth Element (classic), Run Lola Run (classic), and the five-disc Blade Runner set (classic). Yes, they will jump ahead of Stir Of Echoes (why do I have this at all?) and Pearl Harbor (why do I have this on BluRay?), but will probably go to the stack until Senior Thesis is done… and the site is relaunched… and those screeners are reviewed… and Grand Theft Auto IV and Mario Kart Wii are beaten… and I’ve lost weight with Wii Fit…

Dammit.

Addicted to the internet? No, really.

April 5th, 2008 by Josh Dermer

south_park_wow.jpgAn interesting article was found on NeoWin. Do you spend an excessive amount of time on the web? Well, according to Jerald Block M.D., you may suffer from internet addiction, a serious addiction that he feels should be included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V). He feels that anyone spending a lot of time surfing the net, playing online games, or browsing pornographic sites may suffer from this disorder. He goes on to say that there have even been deaths attributed to this addiction. Remember people, going to the bathroom is more important than your level in WoW.

CD Review: Ultraklystron’s “Opensource Lyricist” is truth set to rhymes

January 27th, 2008 by Ben Boerner

nerdcover2.jpgI don’t usually review music, at least, so I thought.  Then I realized, I critique the music in games, what’s different?  Well, aside from it not necessarily having to fit a mood, not much.  And thus I dive into Karl Olson’s new CD: “Opensource Lyricist”.

Spore to Macs this year, Exciting?

January 15th, 2008 by Scott Laney

spore.jpgI don’t know about you, but I’ve been harboring a secret want for Spore for over the last year or so now, and as the deadline for the game keeps creeping up, it keeps getting delayed.  Will Wright has stated that he wants to be shipping out Spore for Macs and Windows sometime in 2008.  Will this be a reality, or will we see another disappointing delay in the game that we’ve been waiting on for so long?  Supposedly, the game is available now playable at Macworld ‘08, via news.com

Will we see the game this year?  Most people doubt it launching at all, pulling a “Duke Nukem Forever”.  I doubt that would happen, seeing how Will Wright isn’t the type of person to do such a thing.

Tokusatsu T’day: iomegaranger?

January 15th, 2008 by Chad Bonin

As Macworld commences, we’ll look back in time ten years, to a sentai based around technology: Denji Sentai Megaranger! Used for Power Rangers In Space, the team centered around technology, surfed on INTERNET, and went virtual reality.

Bonus note: Cartman, on South Park, tends to want “Mega Rangers”. Probably not the sentai, but funny fact.

MacWorld is coming, and Steve must prepare…

January 13th, 2008 by Chad Bonin

Sure, sure… the rumors of Macbook Air, Apple TV 2.0, and iPhone 1.1.3 are all out there, but how do you prepare for it?

Kotaku leads us to this little time waster.

Microsoft CES ‘08: Xbox360 to have “Biggest Gaming Year In history” ??

January 8th, 2008 by Gregori Lewis

Those of us that were lucky enough to take visual evidence to why we are all going to miss Bill Gate’s antics on stage at future conference’s to come were met with staggering numbers and a shortage of surprises. This year’s Microsoft Keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show was at best, lack luster. The biggest announcement can only be utilized by those who reside in England, and own an Xbox 360.  If you meet both of the requirements then Microsoft has a big announcement for you. Microsoft has announced that British Telecom will be the first company to allow Xbox 360 owners to use the Xbox 360 IPTV functons. Cheers to the Brits! Other than using it to watch the 2008 Olympics whenever you want is still up in the air at this time, but at least there was something.  All other “announcements” that were made pertained to Microsoft’s Entertainment Division.
