Still no release dates about a full season box of the newest Spider-Man series, but on March 17th we will be getting 2 new DVDs. The Spectacular Spider-Man - Volume 2: Rise of the Super Villans! and The Spectacular Spider-Man - Volume 3: The Goblin Strikes! will both be single disc releases that will combine 3 episodes into a movie format like the first DVD that was released in September. No bonus features are planned.
While I personally am not the biggest fan of Doctor Who, I’ve at least got to respect it for long-running sci-fi. Like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, it only survives by changing the cast.
Looks like Matt Smith (really generic name) will be picking up the Sonic Screwdriver some time in 2010.
Wasn’t there a limit on how many times he could regenerate?
Sure, the fate of Watchmen may be up in the air with the whole FOX/WB thing, but as it stands, the movie still EXISTS, and we’re still interested in every little bit of info. THR has a new preview of the movie, with clips from Zack Snyder, up on their site.
I’m still hoping to see this on 3/6/9, and hopefully it does better than Frank Miller’s recent “movie”.
If you’re a regular reader of this fine website, you already know about Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. This adaptation of the Japanese tokusatsu show Kamen Rider Ryuki premieres on January 3rd on CW4Kids. As someone who has not seen an Americanized tokusatsu show since the original Power Rangers aired, and as someone who lived through the abortion that was Saban’s Masked Rider, I was curious to see how Kamen Rider Dragon Knight would turn out. I was also curious to see if I can get through an article without making continuous common/kamen puns(the title doesn’t count).
From Yahoo News, it is sadly reported that actress/singer Eartha Kitt has passed away today. Kitt was most famous for being the third Catwoman on the 60’s Adam West Batman and singing the famous song Christmas song, “Santa Baby”. Kitt also played Yzma on Emperor’s New Groove and its sequel and tv series based off the movie. Her work was always appreciated from actors and directors as Orson Welles has once called her “most exciting woman in the world”. She unfortuanetly suffered from colon cancer.
According to the article in MTV’s Movie Blog, Keanu Reeves is eager to have a movie based on the anime Cowboy Bebop, which he wants to star as Spike Spiegel. The outline of the plot will be about the Red Eye plot from the first episode and will be intertwined with the last episode of the series.
My personal opinion, the West does not need to make movies about Eastern cartoon series.
Much like a Walmart* on Black Friday (too soon?), Club Nintendo has opened it’s doors in America, but the doors are on busted hinges. If you had a My Nintendo account, it doesn’t take too much to transfer information. Take a few quizzes, say you’re gonna buy some stuff, and register games for Coins (I’m aiming for Game & Watch, myself)… when the site.
I’d bank on it being every self-respecting nerd registering at the site all at once, but that’d be just me.
Reported from Marvel Animation Age, The Spectacular Spider-Man has finally found a new channel to continue the second season. The show will be leaving CW4Kids and start in the new channel Disney XD (which will replace Toon Disney in Febuary 2009) in March 2009. Second season should start around that time as well. Also Marvel Animation Age reports that the Canadian channel Teletoon will start airing new episodes of The Spectacular Spider-Man in early 2009.
Reported in from Toy Fare magazine, the Spring 2009 line of Bandai’s Power Rangers figures will be Power Rangers RPM (which can be found in stores now for the holiday season). However, Toy Fare also reports that 2 new chaser figures are coming. From Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, we are getting the first American made ranger, the Titanium Ranger. And from Power Rangers Ninja Storm we get the Green Samurai Ranger (which oddly gets called Super Samurai Green Ranger). The article also list limited edition chrome figures as well (hopefully won’t be half done like the SPD chrome figures). Well happy hunting action figure collectors, I have a feeling I’ll have to find these for myself and my editor!
