Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 loses faith in PC players

modern warfare 2 box art Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 loses faith in PC playersCall of Duty Modern Warfare 2 came out recently, and seems to be doing well on the Xbox 360/PS3 front. Over on the PC side though? Not so great. With the decision to cut dedicated servers and not allow mods for the PC audience, they are up in arms. We can see so by looking at the IGN page on the game. While getting a 9.5/10 from IGN and 9.4 from the press, the user reviews gave it a 1.4/10. Will this make Activision rethink what they have done? Or will they continue on and keep running the game off of non-dedicated servers? Only time will tell.

CoD:MW2 for PC is a disgrace. The PC community are the ones who supported this game and brought it to where it is today. Now, MW2 is butchered and downright terrible for PC. Sure, the single player is identical to the console, but that is not the point.

CoD has always been about the multiplayer. With this new revision… we lose dedicated servers? Everything is P2P – so someone has absolute 0 lag, while other players are handicapped by the hosts IP speed. Furthermore, everything is using IW’s matchmaking system – which means modding is out of the picture too. No more custom maps, no more custom gametypes. You are crippled by what IW WANTS you to play.

In short, IW/EA is controlling your content, and butchering your multiplayer. If you read this, do not buy the PC version. If you do, you are supporting the end of true PC gaming, and turning your PC into an Xbox.
