Bandai confirms return of MMPR in new toy line, airing on ABC in 2010

Bandai has just announced the fate of the Power Rangers franchise after RPM, the current installment. The toy company announced that the next line of toys will be based around the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers iteration of the franchise that debuted in 1993. Old and new toys, including Megazords, action figures, vehicles, and role-playing items, will be released by January 2010 alongside a new logo.
The press release also confirmed that ABC Kids will be airing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in January 2010. This leads credence to a rumor that MMPR, which composed the first three seasons of the series, were being remastered for a release next year instead of adapting this year’s Sentai series, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.
Oh – I’d so love it if they re-release the Dragonzord and Megazord toys!
Though it’s a shame they might not continue with the new series derived from Super Sentai. They might have been watering it down like nothing else – but that still ment I could get toys based after them.
