gaijINprize: Major February Freebies!

A glimpse of the style of prizes for the contest

Ah, February. While it’s the shortest month in the year, for 2011, it’s a very awesome month. We’ve got Power Rangers Samurai, we’ve got Kaizoku Sentai Goukaiger, and we’ve got Marvel VS. Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds. There’s too much awesome, and it’s even spreading over to the good old gaijINside.

What we’re going to do this month, instead of the previous Twitter contest that nobody ever really entered (which, in retrospect, made it really easy to win, so shame on you), will be to have one MAJOR prize, and, one, well, minor prize.

We’re talking (final prizes are tentative, since we have to actually dig through them and such, but you’re at least getting)…

• $50 (cover price worth, far from actual price worth) of comic books!
• 1 full featured animated DVD set of something you may or may not like!
• 1 t-shirt that can hopefully fit you!
• 1 mysterious piece of intricately photographed, framable artwork!
• A few iOS games and applications that you normally have to pay money for!
• Possibly something edible!

And, hell, we’ll even do a booby prize. Ha, “booby”.

• Some various crap we found lying around in the office!
• The above is not literal feces.
• … it may be a pair of broken speakers, though.

Both winners will receive…

• An officially signed gaijINside business card!
• A tweet stating that you won!
• A sense of self-accomplishment!*

How do you enter? It’s simple. For every time you officially retweet (see below) an article or message posted by gaijINside on Twitter from 12:01AM February 1st to 11:59PM on February 28th, you will gain an entry into the contest. From there, we’ll tally up how many entries we’ve received, how many entries you made, and do some crazy statistical method or whatever to randomly pick. Therefore, more retweets, more entries.

HOW TO RETWEET

Given how few of you actually paid attention (man, we’re condescending prize people here, aren’t we?), we’re going to spell out how to “officially retweet”. Any time gaijINside posts an article or other message on Twitter, you need to log onto the link above and hit “retweet” on the post. No other ways of RTing can be or will be monitored.

Rules and regulations are boring, but necessary. All staff members and contributors, past and present, are illegible of winning the prize. Previous prize winners are fully capable of winning the prize. Anyone found gaming the system, hacking the Gibson, or obviously a fake account will be ignored. Winner must live in the contiguous United States of America to actually receive the prize. Do you have any idea how much it costs to ship outside? It’s absurd. We also, completely protecting ourselves, retain the right to change anything with or without notice as soon as we realize something’s busted. You’re entering a free contest; we get to have a little power. You didn’t spend anything, did you?
