The Corona Aurora, the Crown of the Gods, has fallen into the hands of evil. If the five jewels that adorn it are gathered and used, the bad guys will win. Billionaire adventure Andrew Hartford, having accidentally started the race for the jewels, selects four individuals to join him as Operation Overdrive, the latest team of Power Rangers. A master thief, an race car driver, a child prodigy, and a stunt man form the rest of the team, but when Hartford is kidnapped, his son Mack takes up his mantle and morpher as the Red Overdrive Ranger.
